Botany as a subject in the science faculty at UG level was started in the college on 1^st July 1983. Mrs. Shailbala Jain has joined this department first as an assistant professor and established the lab also. In the year 1992, Professor Arun Kher replaced her and stayed here for about 13 years. He has built up botanical garden a huge collection of charts, well equipped laboratory and provided all necessary things required by the students. In 2005, he was transferred to Holkar College, Indore and Mrs. Meera Madhuri Mahant took the charge from Dr. Kher. She worked here about 7 years and transferred to other college in 2013. In the session 2014-15 M.Sc. was started in Botany department and the department was run over by the guest faculty members, Dr. Prashant Soni & Dr. Yogendra Singh till December 2019.
      In December 2019 two permanent faculties Mr. Deeapak Kumar Saini and Smt. Nayantara joined here. In September 2021,Dr. Smt. Abha Agrawal and in November2021,Dr. Dinesh Patel joined as guest faculty member.

      Department of Chemistry was established in 1983. Dr. Kiran Singh Thakur was appoined as a founder teacher Chemistry department. Currently Dr. Brajendra Singh Kushmariya is the head of the department. At present there are five post in chemistry department as PG course has introduced in the session 2014-15.       The Department of Commerce was established in the year 1964 with the objective of imparting quality education in the field of Accounting and professional business. The Department has modern facilities for teaching, learning . The Department offers a wide range of programs of study at undergraduate level.       The Department of Computer Application was established in the year 2003 with the objective of imparting quality education in the field of Computer Application and strives to shape outstanding computer professionals. The Department has modern facilities for teaching, learning . The Department offers a wide range of programs of study at undergraduate level. The training imparted aims to prepare young minds for the challenging opportunities in the IT industry with a global awareness supported by experts in the field of Computer Science.

      The Economics department was established in July 1964, which is also the year when the college came into existence. On august 1982 ,finally Govt. has undertaken this college. During the first few years the strength was very less but due to hard working and able faculty members the strength keeps on increasing. Due to increase in strength and the interest of the students in economics department, P.G. Courses in Economics was introduced in the year 1974 and these courses are success fully running to this date. At present these are 2000 students at graduation level and 170 at the P.G. level.

Department of English came into existence in the year 1964, which was the year when Govt. Kamla Nehru Mahila Mahavidyalaya Damoh began its journey.There are two posts of Assistant Professor in English Department and Dr. Malti Nayak is working as Assistant professor in the department since the year 2000. One post of Assistant Professor is sanctioned by the Department of Higher Education M.P. in 2021. Presently English literature and General English (Foundation Course) is offered to the students of UG course.

Geography is the study of places and the relationship between people and there environment The major five themes of geography are location, place, human-environment interaction, movement and region. The German geography Alexander Van Humboldt and Carl Ritter are the founder of present geography. They contributed a lot in the field of geography. Geography is important in every field of Science and Social Science.

Keeping its unique identity in Damoh district, the Hindi department in the college is trying its best to generate interest and inclination towards Hindi among the girl students while looking for career opportunities in Hindi. Girls should take interest in reading literature, find solutions to today's problems in literature and choose a career related to Hindi. The department is trying to upgrade Hindi.The department pays special attention to standard Hindi, best script. Language and script improvement workshops are also organized from time to time. More than 430 girl students are studying in graduate classes and 250 girl students are studying in post graduate classes in this department. Storyteller Premchand is operated in the curriculum as a special study in postgraduate classes.

Since that time History is one of the popular and traditional subject which is widely studied by our college students. History deals the study of change over time, and it covers all aspects of human society. Political, social, economic, scientific, technological, medical, cultural, intellectual, religious and military developments are all part of history. Beside this History also provides information about the chronological record of events (as affecting a nation or people), based on a critical examination of source materials and usually presenting an explanation of their causes.
In History department primarily one post was sanctioned in which Dr.Aruna M Jain as Professor & Head of department is serving in department. From September 2021 one teaching post have been sanctioned on behalf of that Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh (Guest faculty) has recruited on date 13/09/2021.

The department started its journey in the year 1964 with BA as an effective subject of Arts and only one faculty member in the department. In 1983, Government of MP introduced the pure Home science subject in the college. Since 1987 college has Started Post graduation Course in Resource Management.

In 1982, was the year when science faculty was introduced in the govt. Kamla Nehru girls college, mathematics as one of the subject of science started on 1st of July 1983 Mr. Praveen Kumar Shrivastava was the first person who has started this subject in the college with 7 student. The number student keep increasing since then and at present there are about 202 students in the department.
In Mathematics department one post was sanctioned in which Dr. Rajesh Pouranik Fculty of the department is serving in department. From September 2021. Dr. Rajesh Pouranik (Guest faculty) has recruited on date 13/09/2021.

The music department has been functioning in this college since its inception, in this department Mrs. Shobha Bhelsewale was posted as assistant professor from 1983 to January 2021. Many girl students achieved records under her guidance. Presently Ku. Kalyani Rai Working Visiting Scholar.

Physics department is currently headed by Prof. P. L. Jain. The UG courses with Physics as a subject in combination with Mathematics and Chemistry; & Mathematics and Computer Application is offered to students. The post graduate program is offered to students who are eager to know the physical applications of science at advance level since 2014-15. The laboratory is rich in equipments enabling students to get practical knowledge of the subject. Currently there are three faculties & lab staff in this department, they are :

Year of Establishment:1964, since the first inception of the college. The department of Political Science is also introduced in the same year for the students of undergraduate level. The department started functioning well under the leadership of Smt Asha Tiwari.
In December 2019 a permanent faculties Mr. Brajesh Maurya joined here. In November 2021, Dr.Sangeeta Jaggi joined as guest faculty member.

Sanskrit department was established in the year 1964 as a subject. Shri R. P. Tripathi was appointed the first teacher of Sanskrit department. Dr. B. L. Armon has been working as Assistant Professor since 2005. Under whose efficient direction and guidance, the teaching work has gained an effective pace.
Presently, I am Dr. Indu, a guest scholar in Sanskrit teaching and conducting the teaching work smoothly to the students. Three graduate classes in Sanskrit subject are being conducted regularly as per the time table.

From September 2021 one teaching post have been sanctioned on behalf of that Dr. Umesh Kumar Dipankar (Guest faculty) has recruited on date 13/09/2021.

Government Kamla Nehru Girls College has a reputation for rich literary culture. There are number of option for Language students. In the arts Group English, Hindi and Sanskrit department were established in the very beginning year, the college came into existence and in 2014-15, Urdu as a new subject of arts faculty was introduced. Dr. Shabana parveen was appointed as the first guest faculty member of the department through the self financing scheme.
In 2015-16 one post of Assistant Professor was sanctioned by the government Dr. Shabana Parveen is working as a guest faculty member in the department.

The college was primarily established as a private college in 1964 with art courses up to 01/10/1982 .This college was taken over by the government on July 1983 with introduction of new courses life sciences & home sciences. This college was previously affiliated by Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagour up to 2016. From 2017 currently it is affiliated by Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundelkhand University Chhatarpur. The syllabus is designed in collaboration with university and higher education.
Mrs. Sangeeta choudhary was the Pioneer faculty of the zoology department. Onward 25th January 2003 to July 2019 during Dr. Vimla Singh tenure laboratory is renovated and get well equipped.
